Who are the Awliyas?
Friends of AllahIf you ask me, the answer is in the Holy Quran itself. In chapter 10 verses 62 - 64 Allah swt says this,
" No doubt! Verily, the Awliya' of Allah, no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve. Those who believed, and used to fear Allah much (by abstaining from evil deeds and sins and by doing righteous deeds). For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present world, and in the Hereafter. No change can there be in the Words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme success."
Allah is saying that the Awliya of Allah does not have to fear or grieve. The second part of the verse is actually the pathway to reach the station of Awliyas. The gateway to Awliya of Allah is the supreme success according to Allah swt. The only thing we have to do is to FEAR ALLAH.
Whatever you want to do realise that Allah swt is Ever Watchful. He did not create us for fun and play. He created us for a purpose. Every moment in our lives we have to be conciously be aware of Allah swt Presence. Hidden does not means absence. Only the things you cannot see have power behind them.
Take for example, a bacteria or virus. A thing that cannot be seen from the naked eye causes great trouble to humans.
So the condition of becoming Awliya Allah may seem simple but it is a concious effort of our hearts to get connected with Allah.
Maryam (May Peace of Allah Be Upo Her) was the mother of Isa Alaihis salam. She was a very pious woman and always connected with Allah swt. Whenever Zackariya Alaihis salam entered her chamber it was filled with sustenance. Read this verse in the Holy Quran:-
"Every time Zakariyya entered Al-Mihrab (a place to pray) to (visit) her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: '0 Maryam! From where have you gotten this?' She said, "This is from Allah."(3:37)
But when she was carrying baby Isa in her womb it could have been a minute or so she had de focused Allah which can be attributed to the pain of child bearing or she might have focused her time about the baby she was carrying. Allah says this in the Holy Quran
"Then cried unto her from below her, saying: 'Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you. And shake the trunk of date palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe dates upon you. So eat and drink and be glad."(19:24-26)
This time she had to shake the trunk of date palm for food. If Maryam (May Peace and Blessing of Allah Be Upon Her) the mother of Isa Alaihis salam being the woman of all nation had to make effort to find food due to her thoughts of Allah swt dropped from one hundred percent to may be fifty percent, we naturally fail everytime in Allah's swt test.
The heart of man pumps about 38 million times in a year. How much of it is used to remember Allah The Most High. If you fear Allah swt one hundred percent then you are one of the successful ones.
